Krissy joined her first swim team when she was six years old in her hometown of Gig Harbor, Washington. The sport was a perfect fit, because her hair would have been wet anyways from the rain. She later swam for the University of Southern California and graduated with a degree in communication. While attending USC, Krissy worked for the university’s TV news station and immediately fell in love with journalism. In 2010, she took her experience to 710 ESPN in Seattle to pursue her career goals. Krissy credits the sport of swimming for developing a great work ethic and confidence to achieve any obstacle. Like most swimmers, present or past, she believes there is truly no better sport.

Though he swore at 22 that he would hang his suit forever, Patrick is compelled to swim, a true “swim geek” who loves to train, talk, read, write and think about our odd sport. Since he started swimming in a Maryland summer league almost 40 years ago, Patrick’s had the good fortune to swim under some of the sport’s great coaches (e.g., Eddie Reese, Terry Laughlin, Doug Fonder), work on deck with age groupers (go Madison East YMCA Octopi), swim at pools around the world and play practically every parent volunteer role possible with his kid’s awesome USAS club. When he’s not playing his real professional role and shuttling kids around, he lives & trains in Scottsdale, Arizona and offers up some “old school” distance-oriented workouts as the official USMS online coach for the “High Volume Training” program (http://forums.usms.org/forumdisplay.php?f=121). Patrick’s focus at The Swimmer’s Circle will be primarily on the rip-roaring and exciting world of Masters Swimming, where amazing aquatic feats happen on a daily basis across all ages and all continents.

Josh Jeffrey – Writer & Analyst

As a true Pisces, Josh has had a lifelong love of the water, but didn’t actually learn to swim until he was 15. At 16, he started competing, and has been in love with the sport of swimming ever since, crediting it for getting him through a rough adolescence. Having previously written for both Swimming World and Swimnews Canada, Josh brings an extensive swim journalism background with him, and he is eager to help grow TSC into the definitive resource for all things swimming. Though he now lives in San Francisco, Josh hails from Jacksonville, Florida and will always call the Sunshine State home. Outside of the pool, Josh enjoys travel, karaoke, answering questions with random song lyrics, and though he’s rarely at a loss for words, never knows just what to say in an autobiographical blurb.

Shhh. Don’t tell anyone, but Andy has never been a competitive swimmer. But, he’s been in aquatics and involved with swim coaching for the past 14 years as a YMCA and USA coach. Along with his aquatics background, he has worked as a professional blog manager, a social media outreach specialist, a brand marketing coordinator and a regional member relations manager. In fact, to round out his resume, he decided to start up this website after the closing of Floswimming because he thought that (with Flo) the swimming community was finally starting to open up and enter into the mainstream. It’s his goal to continue that movement with continued additions to the Swimmers Circle team, website and other national initiatives.
