Nothing too in depth with this post, but I wanted to quickly share this video from USA Swimming. I will be showing my swimmers the video tonight because we have been looking for a decent backstroke start video for quite some time!

Great video, especially the underwater shot. I always point out to my swimmers the depth that the elite backstrokers get on their starts. It's kind of counter-intuitive to them (and their parents for that matter!) that you would go so deep, when we talk so much about keeping everything going forward, but it really helps them get a hold of that clean water and power through those dolphin kicks.

Shhh. Don’t tell anyone, but Andy has never been a competitive swimmer. But, he’s been in aquatics and involved with swim coaching for the past 14 years as a YMCA and USA coach.
