During a weekend of unbelievable dual meets, here is the most recent updates so far:

- ‘Canes take down Florida Atlantic 171 – 116 with the highlight race of Sofia Johansson (Freshman) in the 100 breaststroke which was her 7th consecutive win.

- Ohio State women beat Michigan State 152 – 91 with eight indivual events won by the Buckeyes

- Oregon State rains on Seattle 162 – 98 with the race of the evening by Kate Hagan in the 1,000 yard freestyle which set a season best time of 1034.95. Along with that event, several other swimmers took first throughout the meet.

- Wyoming brushes off the Utes 182 – 115. The 400 medley relay started the shattering of pool records with a time of 3:53.00 (last set by Utah in 2006). Records continued to break in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:34.89.

- Cal men took the victory from AZ State with a score of 152 – 127. The meet started and ended with the Golden Bears as they won the 400 medley relay. Cal has a quick turn around and swims against #3 ranked Arizona today! The meet started at 12pm…stay tuned!

- Cav’s beat Duke through several significantly close races; one of which being the initial 200 medley relay where Duke took Virginia by :00.77.

- Florida men and women swim past Auburn 162 – 138 (men), and 185 – 115 (women). Surprisingly the Gators were able to pull off the win against the favored Auburn team. However, both teams accumulated 69 total NCAA B standards throughout the meet!

- Arizona women take a loss to Stanford who won the last 11 of 12 events. The final score was 173 – 125. This result takes some of the luster off of them Wildcats’ upcoming showdown with #3 Texas

- Arizona men (#3) stay undefeated as they defeat Stanford (#2) in an extremely close barn burner of a dual meet. At this point, Arizona will compete against Cal today which will be THE meet to watch for NCAA Swimming and Diving fans!!

-A&M does a Texas Two-Step in Baton Rouge over LSU. The women (#6) took down the Lady Tigers (#17) 173-124, paced by a distance double from freshman phenom Maureen McLaine, and 100 back and 100 free wins by Canadian Olympian Julia Wilkinson. Former All-Everything High School Swimmer Mary Beck led the Tigers to 2 relay victories, and also won the 200 back. The Aggie Men (#19) scored a mild upset over the Bayou Bengals (#17). A&M took 10 out of 16 events events, with all but 2 of those being won by the strong Aggie international contingent. Bryan Snowden had the other 2 titles in both breaststroke events. A silver lining for the LSU men was that they won both relays.

-Arizona men (#3) run their record to 6-0 in duals after taking down No. 4 Cal-Berkeley 157-141. Arizona won the race on the power of taking the top 3 spots in 3 events (200 back, 100 fly, and 400 I.M.). Cal’s Nathan Adrian did his best to keep the Golden Bears in the meet by winning the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles, but Cal couldn’t keep pace with Arizona’s depth. Arizona will host the No. 1 Texas Longhorns next Friday and Saturday in a 2-day dual extravaganza. Cal’s next Pac-10 challenge will come in the form of No. 13 USC.

-The #1 Georgia women rebounded from their tough defeat at the hands of the Lady Longhorns to defeat No. 12 Tennessee 189-111.  Georgia simply overwhelmed Tennessee with their huge number of top-level swimmers, despite Tennessee sweeping both the breast and back events, which were won by 4 different swimmers. Georgia continued the dominance of what is perhaps the best home-court advantage in the NCAA by running their record at the Gabrielsen Natatorium to 70-1, including 69 straight. Bonus points if you came name the team that beat them. Hint: It was the 1995-96 season.

Stay tuned for more updates!
